My family and I are in Alacati on vacation, and we decided to eat at Barbun for dinner this evening. We were extremely hopeful about this restaurant, and left with a bad taste in our mouths, both figuratively and literally. We sat down outside and because it was a chilly evening, they brought us blankets (this was the only positive, aside from the good wine we ordered). After we ordered our food we were presented with mini appetizers. They never asked if we wanted these item; they were presented with the understanding that they were compliments of the restaurant/chef. We ate these items, and our food as well (neither of which were good at all - the only decent item was the lamb chops). When we got our bill, there was a surprise charge called "Kuver" for 60tl. When we inquired about this, they said this was a charge for sitting down and also the appetizers they brought us (which as I mentioned earlier we never ordered). I should mention that we are Turkish and fully understand the language, so there was never any misunderstanding about any of this. The total charge was over 550tl for an awful meal and experience - This is a terrible way to run a business, and I would not suggest that anyone waste their time there.

8 lira cover charge on top of a service charge! I wish the food was better but overall experience lacked service or warmth and the lamb was overcooked!
