Great location in the center of town. Fun city views from the roof. Plenty of seating inside and outside, and multi levels. Colorful decor. I enjoyed our bright pink table outside. Friendly service and clean bathrooms. The Margherita flatbread was tasty. The Mac n Cheese was done well. The nachos were okay, a bit soggy but generous toppings. Good vibes.

Showed up here after the Thai place next door was closed. Here is how the visit shook out: Good: * greeted promptly and server was friendly * my blood sugar was very low and server quickly brought me a few packets of sugar so I could get it back up quickly Needing improvement: * I checked in on yelp and got an offer for a free appetizer. Nobody knew about it and eventually someone did come back and say that it was not a valid offer and it expired several years ago. * I ordered the salmon with a side salad. The salmon showed up before the side salad and was dry. Dog biscuit dry. And the teriyaki sauce was just sort of squirted on top and not warm. It just really felt that that no care was taken in preparing that meal by the chef. * my husband ordered the macaroni and cheese with pulled pork on top. He said it tasted like it came out of a microwave because it was cold in some sections and hot in another. He asked for salt because it was really lacking any seasoning, however, the server was helping several other tables and never brought salt over, I tasted some of the pulled pork and I did agree that it probably came out of a microwave as the piece I got was ice cold, but my husband had other pieces were very hot. I'm guessing that's why my salmon was horribly dry, it probably came out of the microwave too. The horrible food quality is really what drove the score. I think my 19-year-old nephew could actually prepare better food than what we were served here.

HUB at 27 Marketplace is located upstairs from Bard's, which used to be a fancier steakhouse with a pricier menu while the HUB has more pub fare with a more affordable inexpensive menu. They both shared the same kitchen and when you made a reservation you had to choose the restaurant who's menu you wanted to order from, kind of like with Pazzo Taverna. However, Bard's recently closed this past year and now it's just HUB. The HUB has a sports bar feel with 17 screens around the bar for sports viewing. They are also known for their craft beers and have pages and pages of craft beers to choose from. They have different themed flights available with four preselected beers to fit a theme such as the Autumn Aromas flight or October Originals flight. The flights were $11 CAD. I had the Autumn Aromas flight which came with an apple smoked ale, a pumpkin ale, and two German style beers. The food menu is eclectic and diverse having items like a sushi roll, poke bowl, burgers, sandwiches, poutine, Thai vegetable curry, spaghetti and meatballs, and Shepherd's pie. When we went, they were out of quite a few things. A couple people in our group wanted to order the schnitzel but they were out. I had the fish and chips which was kinda mediocre and just ok. Another friend in my group had the caesar wrap and they said the same thing. The food wasn't that exciting and no one was super enthused about what they ordered. Food wasn't terrible just kind of bland and nothing I'm dreaming about or rushing back for. Service was good though. We were seeing a play at the Avon theatre and every restaurant in the area was booked and we couldn't get in anywhere. HUB got us in and seated us right away. They weren't too busy and we were under a time constraint to make theatre and they waited on us pretty quickly and got us out in time for our play. Overall, food didn't thrill me, chill me, and fulfill me but if you're in a bind or time crunch to make theatre, and every place is booked, then I'd definitely suggest checking out HUB.
