This was such a welcoming and relaxed place to visit with my friend. The staff are kind, informative and pleasant to talk to and the atmosphere helps calm the chaos of the week. The variety on the menu is quite impressive too (naturally with this being a vegan cafe) but it’s a refreshing treat to have plenty of delicious and actually appetising food to choose from! The oat banana iced latte I had with the seeded flapjack was the perfect pick me up and I enjoyed it fully. I can’t say how much I loved the boho decor and variety of seating areas too. Everything about Barley’s for me, from the food to the service is just pleasant, comfortable and well worth the visit. Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The inside is so cosy, staff are very welcoming and friendly and there’s a large variety of foods to choose from. I got the pastrami melt, potato salad and iced tiramisu latte and it was so delicious. Definitely recommend the iced tiramisu latte!! :) it’s lovely having such yummy vegan options easily available and they seemed to have perfected the recipes Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Unbelievable!! I travelled from Leeds to Hull on an errand and was just looking for some passable vegan lunch. I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the food, service and atmosphere at Barleys. It's a real hidden gem. The menu is simple but delicious. I had the "Folded 'Eggs' on Sourdough" and it was better than any scrambled eggs I've had in the past. I also had a Virgin Mary, which was perfectly spiced and beautifully savoury (not overly acidic as they tend to be when inexpertly made). The service was warm and friendly, and the restaurant itself is a gorgeous environment to sit in. Special mention to the fantastic and unusual wicker lamp which acts as a kind of centre-piece for an upmarket, neutral, boho-style dining space. I can't fault this place, I'd give it 10/5 if I could and my only negative is that it isn't round the corner from me! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: This place is 100% vegan and proves that you don't need meat or dairy for indulgence. Better than most non-vegan and all vegan restaurants I've been to!
