Absolutely pathetic, they stopped selling food. They will let you sit down browse through the whole menu and only when you want order they tell you sorry we don't serve food any more and only sweets. The place is practically empty and it took 30 minutes to get an ice tea from them ... Pathetic indeed.

I've always been a fan of Bateel's dates. They have a premium selection of dates and each one tastes like it was handpicked for quality. My favorites are the Khalas rhotab dates (usually in the fridge section tucked away from view), Sukari, and the variety of stuffed dates with the caramelized macadamia, hazelnut, pecan, orange peel etc. All are really good. If you're going for hazelnuts, make sure to taste them as they easily go a bit rancid.

As for the cafe, I haven't had a visit recently. The menu looks really well done, everything from the wording to the food photography. The food is highly priced for a cafe in my opinion. But they do compensate for making their dishes very well. High attention to detail when it comes to choosing premium ingredients and food presentation. You'd think you'd expect what your club sandwich is going to taste like, but wow do they surprise you with making it better than you expected. It's not like they reinvented the wheel, but they just make ordinary dishes REALLY well.

Chicken pesto club sandwich with sun-dried tomatoes: 10/10

Lemongrass iced tea: 8/10 - I love the idea, it just needs a hint of something

Veggie Omelet: 9/10

Pistachio pie: 9/10

Waffles: 8/10

Value for money: 7/10 - you do get a taste of premium for the money, but portions aren't exactly filling for what you're paying

Service: 8/10 - ordering was a bit slow that day, even though there weren't many people

Ambiance: 7/10 - doesn't really feel special, as it's very open to the mall

Will be coming back for more dates!
