Great place to eat. Kind and helpful staff. Authentic food. The restaurant could do with some work (the exterior isn’t very appealing) but prices are good. Would definitely return - better than any other Chinese food I’ve had in Notts. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

This is probably the best legit Chinese restaurant in Nottingham. It’s located at the top of Alfreton Road near Canning Circus. This is always my go-to Chinese restaurant whenever I want something high quality. You usually don’t need to reserve a table, as there are often seats available. Their five-spice beef brisket noodle soup completely won me over. Tip: Make sure to order more than £10 to avoid the card payment fee. One of the last happy memories before lockdown was a long evening at Beijing Chef, where you're always welcomed like an old friend, and every visit offers new opportunities for surprise. Besides fulfilling the primal desire for punitive heat and salt, it's a terrific place to experiment with regional Chinese cookery - I can't wait for the crisis to pass so I can continue my education.
