I went here a couple of years ago and wasn't to impressed. I've gone back 2-3 times now, each time the food has been good. I think they changed their menu and got a new cook. It's a great local place to grab dinner.

Not great. I went to Bemos tonight with my dad and my 2 year old because I had a Groupon that was about to expire. We started with the New Orleans BBQ shrimp and grits for an appetizer. It was fairly expensive for an appetizer. Grits were bland by themselves, but the shrimp was heavily seasoned - overall not terrible. For our main courses my dad got the blackened fish tacos which I'm pretty sure had the same Cajun seasoning as the BBQ shrimp. It did not go well with the slaw on the tacos or whatever sauce came on it. I received a generous portion of undercooked fish and chips. The fish had no flavor at all and was wet and mushy. The fries were the best thing of the night, but my toddler ate mine since his Mac and cheese wasn't very kid friendly. It was large penne noodles in an Alfredo type sauce with a lot of stringy cheese - maybe Parmesan? It didn't melt down well and was a big gloppy mess. Will not be returning.
