5 Stars to Kristy the bartender. She catered to my friends' first time camping, and she was so lovely accommodating to their needs and questions. She gave local advice and kept our spirits up (literally, with boozy spirits). She had stories to tell and kept us entertained with her charm and wit. The bar is a pleasant addition to our Big Sur experience.

My partner and I were seated in the back, outdoors, overlooking the river. Our server didn't know much about the ingredients of the dishes we ordered, but she was kind and went to ask someone who did know, which we truly appreciated. We received decent service and food! The beef tacos were a bit different and were served with marigold petals, which added color to the dish, but were quite bitter. The avocado parfait was a delight! We both enjoyed the experience.

Pleasantly surprised about the Big Sur Lodge Restaurant. They have lots of excellent souvenir items. Did not get a chance to try the food, but the ice cream is amazing. Great selection at a price that will not break the bank. The seating area provides lots of rustic, backwoods comfort too. Apparently there is an outdoor bar in the back, but was there too early to enjoy it. If you are at Big Sur State Park, be sure to stop by here before or on your way back.
