We were a returning customer after multiple visits, with service that has been really good, I'm all for supporting local business. Sadly Saturday night you let us down. We booked a table for 615pm, we ordered very promptly, we didn't see any food until 730pm, the staff very apologetic. We wish that we were given a heads up upon arrival that there was a wait for food, we had young kids with us. (we would have gone else were). Other tables which came in at a similar time as us had eaten and where having tables cleared before we seen any food. I had my favorite pulled pork burger, it was a disappointment and not worth the $30 now, portion size is much less, then in the past. It cost us $172 for 2 adults and 2 kids, we only had 1 drink each, 2 of them just soft drinks. Sadly we will not rush back anytime soon. Slow service and the value for the good money we spent was just not there. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–40

Just wanted to share that me and my partner enjoyed our night here. If I had to flaw it, it was a tough pricey for what we got and we waited a bit for our food to come out, but we did go on a Saturday night and it was a bit of a rush. The team handled the rush really well and the food was amazing!! Thank you guys for a great night!! We visited Black Label Barbecue this evening and couldn’t have been more impressed. Their motto, “low and slow,” truly sums up the care and flavour they put into their food. We were greeted by Josh and later served by Brittany, both of whom were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive — we honestly couldn’t have asked for better service. We decided on the ribeye steaks, shared some fries and coleslaw, and enjoyed a couple of beers and a glass of wine. The food arrived promptly and looked fantastic — I actually forgot to take a photo before we tucked in, which says it all! The ribeyes were absolutely outstanding — easily the best steaks we’ve ever had, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Although we won’t be back in Rotorua for a while, we’re so glad we discovered this gem. Highly recommended, especially for anyone who appreciates superb steak and great service.
