Blue Sakura, heard and seen a lot about it via Tiktok and Instagram, so I had to try it. From Almere to Blue Sakura Zwolle. Very beautiful, atmospheric environment in the old Bethlehem Church, beautiful with those high ceilings and wall drawings. But because of those high ceilings and great acoustics, I found the sound a bit noisy and messy with all those people chatting. Call me a whiner, but if you want to have a romantic dinner for the two of you, the noise can be a bit disturbing. I may be 50 and enjoy a quieter environment, but if you go with a group you will be less annoyed by the ambient noise. There is also a lot of buzz in other restaurants, don't get me wrong, but there it is more muted due to the low ceilings and smaller space. Well enough about the sound Because the most important thing is of course the food. Wow, wow, wow.... Nothing too much said about Blue Sakura. Hands on, the tastiest steak tips I have ever eaten in an AYCE restaurant. The Lamb skewer and Beef skewer were really delicious, even though they look the same seasoning to me, those spices are really great. Also really in the top 3 skewers ever for me. And the grilled ribeye , owh man... kill me now. I really don't expect this quality and taste in an AYCE with this price. They could have fed me this all evening and I would have gone home very happy The sushi was also very tasty and fresh. We ordered the specials, the Surf & Turf and Hotategai... delicious sushi, but they didn't look like the picture in the menu. That is of course a bit of a whine, but for people who are also visually oriented like me, it can prevent disappointment. But the taste was really delicious and also very filling. I can handle my figure quite a bit, but after one full round of just sushi, specials and Ebi Tempura Maki I felt fuller than normal. Could also be due to the large cocktail we had drunk beforehand at Dublin House All in all, we had a delicious meal at Blue Sakura, definitely recommended. Make sure you choose a good place to sit, because we were in a corner with very little light, so you cannot read the map without the light on your phone. Besides that, this AYCE has the best meat dishes in my opinion, but in terms of Sushi I think Ixi in Utrecht is better. Blue Sakura is my new number 2 AYCE in the Netherlands and thus knocks Tatsu out of his place.
