Bock Biere Cafe is a really charming little spot with a great atmosphere. The music adds a nice touch, making it a comfortable place to relax. Drinks are on the pricier side, but the quality definitely makes up for it. It’s a solid choice for grabbing a nice pint on your way into town. Price per person: £10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I genuinely don’t know what was more disappointing—the atmosphere or the attitude. What should have been a relaxed catch-up over drinks turned into an exercise in shouting over painfully loud rock music. The place wasn’t busy—in fact, it was practically empty—so there was absolutely no need for the volume to be cranked up to that level. When we politely asked the barman if he could turn it down, the response was defensive and dismissive: “I can turn it down a bit.” What followed was a token gesture at best—the volume barely changed, and it was still impossible to have a normal conversation. Whether this was laziness, poor judgment, or just a lack of basic customer awareness, it completely ruined the experience. We ended up leaving early, which says everything. For a place that certainly doesn’t charge budget prices, you’d expect a far better standard of service—and at the very least, an environment where you can actually hear the person you came with.
