The service was attentive and prompt. The sweet tea is super sweet (which I love!). I enjoyed my quesadilla; I loved the flavored tortilla and the Parmesan on top- the parm gives it a neat salty flavor that is really good. The peanut butter pie was absolutely delicious.

Came here with a group for a get together while In Augusta and I had never heard about Boll Weevil, but we were all pretty excited to eat! Calling themselves the Boll weevil cafe and sweetery, I was told that they're known for their cakes, and when you see the slices of these things your eyes are going to pop out of your head! In terms of their non dessert menu, it is limited in terms of selection types, but that's not bad, as they focus on soups, salads, sandwiches, Appetizers and five entrees ranging from Mahi mahi, to chicken to vegetarian napoleon. I ordered their pimento cheese burger ($8.49), medium well, and for $1 more as a side I added on a soup of my choosing. I chose the Turkey and rice soup. The Pimento cheese burger had okay flavors and was cooked well done, without any hint of pink at all. The turkey and rice soup was hearty, VERY thick, almost with a stew consistency and needed some seasoning added to it. If I stopped at just their entree I'd have given this place 3 stars, but fortunately I kept going and got their Velvet Delight cake slice to go ($7.39). This cake came with cheesecake sandwiched by two layers of red velvet, with the entire thing being encased in cream cheese frosting. The frosting was excellent! The red velvet layers were moist and not coarse/dense, and the cheese cake was also really good! This thing was BIG. How big? I sent a photo to a friend at 7pm and 3 hours later they laughed when I told them I was still eating the cake slice! Located in downtown Augusta, Boll weevil has street parking as well as a rear lot for customers. There's also a parking deck not so far away too. Getting out onto 10 9th street is pretty easy in either direction and there didn't seem to be any traffic to speak of on a Wednesday evening. If you're coming here for a meal, your order may be average at best in terms of flavors, but if you have a sweet tooth, this may be your spot. I definitely recommend these guys for a slice of sweetness, that'll take some time to finish off!
