Hello there, Dom here — your local Chicago guide. This was my first time visiting Bonbons N Roses, and I have to say, the place itself is beautiful. They have some of the nicest flower and balloon arrangements I’ve seen in Chicago, with very high-quality products and a great aesthetic. I’ve seen them all over social media and have visited that plaza many times, but this was my first time actually ordering from them. I also want to mention that I’m usually someone who only leaves positive 5-star reviews and tries to support local businesses whenever I can. I normally avoid leaving negative feedback, but in this specific case, I felt the experience needed to be mentioned honestly. My wife called around 10:00 AM to place the order, and we were told it would be ready before 2:00 PM with all the requested colors available. If they had simply told us upfront that they needed 24 hours notice or that they wouldn’t be able to fulfill the order in time, that honestly would have been completely fine. Things happen, and I would have appreciated the honesty and planned accordingly. Instead, I took my lunch break from work and drove about 30 minutes to get there, arriving right at 2:00 PM, only to be told the order was not ready and would take another 30 minutes. After already waiting 15 minutes, the floral team came out and mentioned that one of the colors originally promised was no longer available. In the end, I didn’t leave until almost 2:50 PM. Since this was for a graduation gift, timing was important, and I ended up spending nearly two hours dealing with one arrangement and was late getting back to work. To their credit, they did give me a discount because of the situation, and I appreciated that gesture. But honestly, for a premium place like this, the money wasn’t the issue — the service and communication were. When customers are paying for a high-end experience, reliability and efficiency matter just as much as the product itself. I still genuinely like the business and think their products are beautiful, but they really need to improve communication, timing, and overall customer experience.
