We do typically make our chocolate and strawberry shakes by using vanilla ice cream and adding chocolate syrup or fresh strawberries before blending them, however we are always happy to change that base flavor for each of our customers! It sounds like this maybe wasn't explained to you clearly, nor was the offer to remake it according to your liking, which is an absolute misstep on our part.
