Disappointed by the staff in the kids’ area I visited this restaurant with my child on September 2nd. Overall, everything was wonderful: the food was delicious, the waiters were polite, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience was completely spoiled by the behavior of one staff member in the kids’ area. My child brought a small bag with some balls upstairs. I understand and respect the rule that toys should not be taken out of the kids’ area, so I explained to my child that the toys needed to stay downstairs. Later, when my child returned to the kids’ area, I noticed the staff member taking the bag of balls directly from my child’s hands. I stepped in and explained that I would make sure my child followed the rules and that the toys would remain inside the kids’ area. In my opinion, this could have been handled calmly and politely, especially when dealing with a small child. However, something much more concerning happened afterwards. I noticed that the staff member had left the door near the children’s pools open and walked away into the restaurant. I was constantly watching my child, so I immediately noticed the open door. But if a parent had not been nearby and watching their child, this could have resulted in a child leaving the designated safe area. I also saw the staff member roughly taking a toy away from another child. Afterwards, my child told me that the staff member had hit her. I cannot confirm exactly what happened, which is why I am specifically asking the management to review the CCTV footage and investigate this incident. I consider this type of behavior completely unacceptable in a children’s area. This is no longer about a bag of balls or following the rules — it is about children’s safety, appropriate treatment of children, and the responsibility of staff working in a kids’ area. I sincerely ask the restaurant management to investigate this situation, review the CCTV footage, and address the staff member’s conduct. I hope appropriate action will be taken to ensure that something like this does not happen again. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be returning to this restaurant. I do want to separately thank the waiters and the kitchen staff — the food was genuinely delicious and the service from the rest of the team was very good. It is a shame that the behavior of one staff member left such a negative impression of the entire restaurant. Unfortunately, due to the stress of the situation, I did not manage to take a photo of the open door near the kids’ area. However, this should be clearly visible on the CCTV footage, and I strongly encourage the management to review it. I believe that a restaurant that positions itself as family- and child-friendly should have staff who are patient, attentive, and genuinely friendly towards children. Safety and the way staff interact with young children should be a priority. Service: 1

I had a wonderful experience at Bucu Family Cafe in Umalas. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and truly family-friendly—perfect whether you're coming with kids, friends, or just looking for a relaxed spot to unwind. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They offer a great variety of dishes, from local favorites to international options, and everything we tried was delicious. The portions were generous and definitely good value for money. What really stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready with a smile, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. The setting is also lovely, with a peaceful vibe that makes you want to stay longer. It’s a great place to enjoy a slow breakfast, casual lunch, or even just coffee and dessert.
