Very Good coffe. If you like talking about coffee and they aren't too busy, the guy there is pretty informative as well.

Edit: My mistake: If the VAT regulation is not relevant here and the current advertised to-go prices only represent temporary promotions, then the prices have simply been increased extremely sharply. The standard drinks here have simply become far too expensive. I don't think there is a need for another specialty café on campus and I think it's a shame that there is no longer good coffee at a reasonable price. --- The coffee is good, but my former favorite café has been going downhill for about a year. Things have gotten worse since the banana bread campaign in December 2022. The "new" promotions are always tied to regularly changing conditions, and you always end up spending more money than intended. Generally there is a huge, confusing price menu inside, and you are always forced to order as quickly as possible because there is usually a long line behind you and you can't see the prices outside. The prices and conditions initially appear to be cheap, but overall they are very non-transparent. The supposed sustainability was also refuted when regular customers were repeatedly forced to use a to-go cup for the campaign. Added to this are the price increases since the beginning of this year. The tax increase for in-house orders was used as an opportunity to raise prices for both in-house and to-go orders. There is also a price difference of significantly more than 12% between To-Go and In-House. I enjoyed going to Café Stopover for a cup of coffee or espresso and also for an overpriced banana bread, but this will no longer be an option for me in the future due to the prices. The price-performance ratio is simply no longer right. Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: €1–10 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Most …Hello Marc, We will take your detailed review as an opportunity to address it in detail. Who overwhelms you at the checkout in Stopover? In fact, the opposite is true. Most of the time our customers have to wait a little longer in line because we take the time to explain everything in detail. A long queue in the cafeteria certainly doesn't encourage you to order the wrong products. We would like to make it clear that the VAT regulation has not affected our beverage prices since January 1st, 2024. Our price adjustment was long overdue, regardless of the VAT regulations. The legal regulation for ToGo and in-house drinks has not changed during the pandemic and since January 1st, 2024. You are confusing the topic of VAT with drinks and food. Dining restaurants were relieved during the pandemic and have had to operate since January 1st. pay the old VAT again. We would like to point out that as part of the 10-year Café Stopover campaign last year, we offered free banana bread once every month with every drink order. Our reusable customers even received free drinks every day for a whole week. In contrast to other catering establishments, which often only offer free promotions for a short time, we at CAFE Stopover were able to offer free banana bread once every month for the whole day from December 2022 to December 2023. Our team has put considerable effort into making this possible. Given these efforts and your response, reading your complaint almost seems like a bad joke. In addition, since we were founded over 10 years ago, we have only used biodegradable reusable cups, which are more expensive to purchase. Since January 1st, 2024, there has been no price difference between in-house and ToGo drinks (except for promotions). Our cappuccino price for €2.90 in 2024 is not too high! Also note that reusable customers receive the cappuccino for €2.50. This shows how important sustainability is to us and how we reward reusable customers. The prices of our Espresso World series café beans, currently Guatemala “Bourbon 300” and Ethiopia “Heirloom”, have fallen by 40 cents compared to 2023. For our macchiato drinks we use high-quality milk without pesticides from the brands Provamel and Berchtesgadener Land. Our main focus is quality and we pursue long-term goals. That's why we have been successful in Aachen and Passau for over 10 years. We won't always be able to please everyone, but customers looking for quality will find a place to enjoy at Café Stopover. There won't be many cafés in Aachen where you will be told in such detail about the type, origin and quality of the café beans available. Our banana bread is not overpriced at €2.70 or €2.50 for loyalty customers. But you can't ask for a whole grain banana bread with high-quality, expensive pistachio cream + pistachios and chocolate for less than €3. With over 80 banana bread and cake variants, we make sure that there is something for every budget when baking. For our banana bread and our waffle dough mix we use the best flour from Demeter and Bioland. We grind wheat for the whole grain series ourselves on site. We will not lower the quality of our raw materials, beans or milk to reduce prices. Luckily, over the years we have built repeat customers who appreciate our quality and prices. Our customers love that we prepare everything fresh on site, grind our grain ourselves and set all the parameters for our 10 café mills to perfection every day. Anyone looking for quality at fair prices will not be disappointed with us. We wish you all the best and thank you for your feedback. STOPOVER Team AachenMore
