After visiting Brisbane Masonic Temple, you may have a meal at this restaurant. Cafe Conti is recommended for the Australian cuisine served. Here you will be offered the good corn fritters, perfect poached eggs and fine bacon. Many guests come here to enjoy the decent French toast and excellent apple cake. According to the reviewers' opinions, the coffee is superb at this place. It's always a pleasure to rest and have a meal here because of the friendly staff. Nice prices are something that should be said about this spot. This restaurant with the fabulous atmosphere can be a good dining place on your route. Zomato users assigned Cafe Conti a below average rating.
Great for anyone except coeliacs.
I don't want to write a nasty review. The staff are friendly and polite. The food was tasty and the service was prompt. Everything was great except that the gluten free meal I was given was definitely not so. I was violently ill after eating, so either there was contamination or poor understanding of gluten-containing ingredients.
If you aren't coeliac, it's a great place. If you are, stay away.
It's a cafe in great location and friendly staff. However, we found both the coffee and food to be disappointing at the price point. My coffee was lukewarm at best. Taste was fine but should have been warmer. I'm not a fan of overly hot coffee so for me to say it's cold is a surprise. I ordered Eggs Benedict and my brother Salt and Pepper Squid. The EB was underwhelming with barely a dollop of hollandaise on each egg - a stingy amount of sauce, which is the centrepiece of the dish! The sour dough bread and ham were average to my taste. The spinach was hidden under the bread. Why? The mushrooms on the side were cold. I've had a lot better for the same or less $$$ including the Coffee Club's eggs benedict, which I don't rate highly. My brother's salt and pepper squid was over cooked with 4 average sized pieces of squid on a huge plate with a mixed salad. My brother again rated the Coffee Club's S&P Squid better with a much better and bigger serving size for similar $$$. He said about 12 pieces of squid compared with 4 pieces at Cafe Conti. The waitress did not follow up to ask how the coffee and meal was so I sought them out to share my feedback. While not unpleasant, the meals and coffee left us disappointed. Not sure I will give them a second go but the owner did appreciate my feedback.
