I've always enjoyed going to Café Laura in the past. The food is ok and the prices, while high, are not above average for the area. However, what happened to my wife and me yesterday cannot go without comment: We - mind you, as regular guests of the café - in the shade at over 30 degrees we dared to order two glasses of tap water with our order (two salads and two drinks). . Then the owner Marcel - who we have known for many years (!) - came running to our table, greeted us friendly and then said that we were to blame for the extinction of the gastronomy. In 30 years he had never seen anyone ask for tap water. You can drink this at home. I then made it clear to Marcel that I knew it very differently from other cafés. He then became slightly aggressive and repeated again that it was his shop and that if he gave out a tap water he could not pay his staff. My cautious objection that gastronomy is not only about sales but also about hospitality and a feel-good atmosphere, he actually says that sales alone are decisive for him and that we could order a bottle of water. That was probably our last visit to Café Laura for the time being. PS: Not because of the water... Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
