I’ve been to Cafe Mimosa several times, and I have always really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, after yesterday’s visit, I feel like I can’t stay silent about the service, because the experience left quite a bitter taste. We came with our friend and her little baby, and from the moment we arrived, we had the feeling that we were somehow not very welcome. There were free tables inside, but it seemed like the staff really didn’t want to offer us a place indoors. Instead, we were made to feel as though we should sit outside, even though it was about to rain. What made it especially uncomfortable was that there were clearly available tables inside. When we eventually asked if we could sit at one of them, the reaction and the look we received made us feel as though having a baby with us was somehow a problem or an inconvenience. Of course, we were eventually allowed to sit inside, but it felt like we had to make an extra effort just to be treated like any other guests. And then, seeing how warmly and naturally a dog was welcomed compared to how we were treated with a baby made the whole situation feel even more strange. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve had this kind of experience at Cafe Mimosa. And after talking to other people since yesterday, I’ve realised that I’m not the only one who has felt this way. I’m not writing this review to attack the place or its staff. Quite the opposite — I genuinely hope the management takes this as constructive feedback and looks into how guests are being treated. As a customer, I simply want to feel welcome when I walk into a cafe or restaurant. I don’t want to feel like I’m an inconvenience because I happen to arrive with a baby. The food, as always, was really good, and the kitchen team deserves credit for that. But unfortunately, good food cannot completely make up for an unpleasant experience with the service. I really hope the management takes this seriously, because it would be a shame for a place with such good food to leave guests with the feeling that they are not wanted there. Unfortunately, my experience at Cafe Mimosa was quite disappointing. The food selection could be much more diverse. The menu feels heavily focused on eggs, and there are not enough other options to choose from. The Benedict Royale was extremely salty, to the point that it was difficult to enjoy. The syrniki were completely raw inside. This was especially disappointing, as they were clearly not properly cooked. The service was also an issue. The staff did not approach me while I was sitting alone at the table, and when I raised the issue with the raw syrniki, I felt pressured to accept that there was supposedly nothing wrong with them. Eventually, I had to eat them despite them being undercooked. To make matters worse, no cutlery was provided for the syrniki in the first place. Overall, I expected a much better experience. There is definitely room for improvement, both in the food and in the way guests are treated. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €25–30
