Cafe Ranzan was one of the highlights of our family's trip to Kyoto. Located just outside Hankyu Arashiyama Station, it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy an incredible meal. The food was phenomenal—every dish was flawlessly prepared and beautifully presented. The coffee deserves special mention: their dark roast was so rich and delicious that I had to order a second cup. In fact, the entire experience was so memorable that our family came back the very next day. What truly sets Cafe Ranzan apart is its atmosphere. Walking inside felt like stepping into a beloved animated film. The warm dark wood tones, soaring ceilings, gentle music, and cozy ambiance created the feeling of wandering through an enchanted forest storyscape. It was both peaceful and magical. We would happily return again on our next trip to Kyoto. Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I’m very confused with some of the reviews on here because this place was amazing. Very affordable and amazing food. We just went for the second time For breakfast and I can’t say enough good things about this place. The coffee was 100% amazing and the food was price reasonably and great portions.
