Una visita espectacular, cerveza fría y cócteles, la comida no es su fuerte por el precio hay muchos mejores. El atardecer un lujo en esa terraza.

I went to visit the now famous and revitalized region of Além Carmo, and, of course, to get there I had to climb a hill - because Salvador is an endless up and down. Extremely hot, I went into Cafélier to drink something cold, without any other pretensions. I told the waiter that I just wanted to have a juice, that it would be quick, and asked if I could sit at the only empty table on the balcony, located next to the railing framed by beautiful pink bougainvilleas. He said it was a reserved table, but only for half an hour, and he allowed me to sit there until people arrived, without any problems - he was attentive, clear and kind, it's not difficult to serve well, right? So I sat down, stayed, and drooling over the wonderful view of the port, another table became vacant, and I didn't even have to leave. I had two juices, which came ice-cold, and I ended up ordering a Mil Folhas Pie. Where I live, Thousand Leaves Pie is something completely different from what I ate, I thought it was very different. It was delicious, but it wasn't the Mil Folhas I was expecting, lol. Then I went to appreciate the place, which is full of antiques, works of art, everything very harmonious. The owner - who was there in the first room, in good prose - is a collector, especially of cups, there are several and several arranged in showcases around the bar. Some items are for sale. In fact, I saw on their Instagram that the beautiful and huge cash register costs R$5,500.00 (March/2024) It's a traditional bar, it's been on the market for over twenty years, a cultural reference and there's no need to make a reservation - tables are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. If you make a reservation, it is obviously reserved. I thought it was cute, good service, it would be a place I would recommend to watch the sunset - however, from here the sun doesn't set into the sea, but rather on the island of Itaparica, just ahead. BUT, I warn you, just like any other bar in Carmo, where the balconies are the main protagonists, it DOES NOT have air conditioning. There are several wall fans scattered around, they alleviate the heat, but until the sun sets, it's hot, you know?
