I recently visited Calicut Notebook Restaurant in Doha and tried their meals. The food was decent, but I felt the quality and taste have gone down compared to before. It seems like there may have been a change in the chef or recipes. Ever since they shifted to the new location, the flavors are not the same as what made me enjoy this restaurant in the past. I hope they bring back their original taste and consistency because it used to be one of my favorite places for authentic Kerala food. We tried their non-veg sadhya, and it was absolutely delicious. Served traditionally on a banana leaf, it came with all the classic sadhya items like pickles, banana chips, thoran, aviyal, sambar, moru, pappadam, payasam, and several other sides. In addition, they also served two varieties of fish curry and one chicken curry. For me, the chicken curry was the highlight, it had the comforting homemade taste that reminded me of the food I enjoyed during childhood. Overall, the non-veg sadhya was truly worth trying. It may feel a bit expensive, but you definitely won’t regret spending on it. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: QAR 100–150 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian options: Available

Absolute Culinary Excellence two days in a row!We dined at Calicut Notebook for two consecutive days because the food is simply phenomenal. We ended up overeating both times because everything tasted absolutely awesome! The Special Fish of the Day, Egg Roast, Fish Mango, and Thalassery Biriyani are highly recommended. Both fays we had the Tender coconut juice to wash down the excellent food and it too tasted amazing.. Absolute Culinary Excellence two days in a row!We dined at Calicut Notebook for two consecutive days because the food is simply phenomenal.
