While Electra is a small town with limited dining options, Carlitos stands out as a happening dining spot for delicious Tex-Mex cuisine. The restaurant is conveniently located just off Business 287 on S. Bailey St. – when you reach the flashing lights, head west and cross over the railroad tracks; Carlitos will be on your left (south) side of the street. Though the building itself is small, the large sign out front makes it easy to spot. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated—no wait, which is always a nice surprise. Our server, Laycie, was kind, friendly, and attentive, offering exceptional service throughout our meal. The food at Carlitos is made fresh and served hot. We were delighted by the generous portions of complimentary chips and salsa, which were both tasty and satisfying. The salsa, in particular, was a hit with us – as a couple who isn’t fond of cilantro, we appreciated that this salsa contained little to no cilantro. For lunch, we each selected a dish from the lunch menu and were impressed with both the quality and quantity. I opted for the beef tacos, while my husband chose the beef and cheese enchiladas. Both meals came with the usual rice and beans accompaniment and were visually appealing and full of flavor. The food was both hearty and delicious. As for pricing, Carlitos offers great value for the quantity and quality of food served. Each of our meals was reasonably priced at around $10 to $15 per person, which is definitely budget-friendly. If you find yourself passing through Electra, TX, about 30 miles north of Wichita Falls, I highly recommend stopping by Carlitos Mexican Restaurant. It’s a fantastic choice for great food at a great price. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, wheel chairs and walkers may access the restaurant. The parking lot is gravel, and the entrance door is a single heavy door.
