Ended up dropping by here during recent visit to Portland. Originally chose the spot for its variety of food vendors and beer selections. Its a good place if you want everyone to have options. Very clean, friendly staff and shout out to Manager Cynthia. Being out of towners, you never really know the vibes. She was very friendly, struck up a convo, got our drinks out asap, and gave us some good recommendations for stuff to check out in the city. Plus its dog friendly! Great vibe, great service. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

There’s alway a tension in the air when Cynthia the manager is around. I’ve come here to support and bring my dog Frankie here since I moved here in November literally right next door. At our most recent visit Cynthia asked me to move away from the bar because my dog was “farting too much” literally something he can’t control. He wasn’t barking or aggressive, in fact he was loving on everyone who came up to the bar. And mind you it was NOT busy and slow. You’re either dog friendly or you’re not. It made me feel personally out casted, although I’ve never felt a welcoming vibe from her to begin with, I most came to support the bartenders I adore. Price per person: $10–20 Atmosphere: 1

What an amazing spot. I came in here with my brother on a weekday morning during an aimless walk of Portland on vacation, and I don’t think we left until the sun was nearly down. The staff was kind and it was fun to talk to some regulars in a less busy setting. People were in and out for some lunch and a bite to eat at the countless food truck options. All of which were delicious, although we didn’t get to try them all. There is something for everyone in the patio. If you grab a bite to eat, stop in and get a drink from the lovely staff. We ordered bloody Mary’s at first, and they were running low on Bloody Mary mix. The owners partner quickly asked if we were willing to wait a bit, while they made some more from us. Fresh and homemade the drink ended up delicious. If you are planning on going to the Moda Center or ever in the area, I highly recommend The Garden Tavern Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
