Stopped by here for lunch while driving through the ‘countryside’. Best decision I made was to heed the waiter’s advice and try the Duroc Pork Chop. Usually I’d avoid it as I prefer homemade pork dishes. But I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. It was delicious and tender; not a crack of salt or pepper was needed. It’s a must have if you dine here and eat pork. Service: 5

Beautiful pub. Friendly, efficient service. Varied, interesting menu. Delicious food, the quality of which justified the prices. Thoroughly recommended. I won't wait another 30 years before returning...

The Cat Inn has been on my list of places to go for a while, after seeing it listed on the Good Food Guide. Reviews made it sound great and the pictures made the food look delicious. It didn't disappoint. Fresh, tasty and well presented food. For me, a good sized menu, with not too many choices (I don't like to feel overwhelmed) but enough to give options. A nice variety from fish and chips/burgers, what you expect from a pub, to something different like Guinea Fowl. Starters were really good. We had the mushroom and onion broth (10 out of 10) and the beetroot & goats cheese tart (also 10 out of 10). I had sea bass and my partner the guinea fowl. Both were presented well and tasted even better. Puddings were amazing! Tiramisu and the chocolate terrine - wow! I also should note, a great selection of non-alcoholic beers and spirits. Something I really appreciate. Apart from the wonderful food. The staff and service was excellent. Welcoming and warm, friendly and just the right amount of attention. Overall, a wonderful evening and I want to visit again for a roast. Service: 5
