Waitress was extremely rude and dismissive. We came in after a long morning of traveling, and I politely asked if the omelette was gluten free because I have celiac disease. She rudely responded that “nothing on the menu is gluten free” and made absolutely no effort to check or help me find something I could safely eat. I completely understand if a restaurant can’t accommodate dietary restrictions, but the way she spoke to us and treated a simple question was incredibly unwelcoming.

The Village Inn restaurant is absolutely amazing!! I travel for work as an independent contractor and rely on snacks or frozen or cold foods often to get me through the days. My kid, 20, and I were desperate for real food and this place did NOT disappoint!! We first visited on 4/24 around 9:12pm, they close at 10pm. Their head chef, Leo, was the only one working and he was exceptionally polite despite the time, didn’t rush us or anything. The helpings were massive! I wish I had taken a picture, I ordered the same as below and it was much taller than my 2nd one! Everything was so good I had to apologize to my kid for making delicious mmm noises while I ate haha. They got a grilled cheese that had a huge slab of real cheese in it with half a plate of fresh cut Idaho fries. I had the bbq bacon burger. Our total for 2 massive plates of food and 2 sodas was only $30.19. Between the delicious food, the time and the quality of service I left a $10 tip. The food was so good we made sure to stop again before leaving Challis. There are so many menu options but everything from the night before was so tasty we both ordered the same thing again. This time we took a pic to share. We had a wonderful manager named Chris. There was a teen cooking, who I guess is typically a cook and it was absolutely wonderful!! This place cannot go wrong! If you are traveling through you have to stop and grab a bite!!! The portions are massive and the food is phenomenal!
