I went to Charm Ramen & Rice within a month of their grand opening. I had been following their renovation progress with great anticipation. They were wonderful people fielding my inquiry and kind enough to add me to their grand opening notification. Happy to report that everything was amazing! The items we ordered (Black Garlic Ramen and the Mazemen) were made to order and all ingredients were fresh and very well seasoned. The noodles were bouncy and had a nice chew to them. The eggs were steamed to a perfect level of soft-boil; the yolk was creamy, a sort of magic only reached with discipline and attention to detail. The broth, very clearly made through hours of preparation, was layered with rich flavor without being oily. Neither instant nor store bought could ever compare. I found myself satisfied after one bowl; However, I was able to order an extra bowl of noodles on the side (Kaedama). This extra side of noodle is strategic as it could serve as leftovers should you bring them home. Mine did not make it out of the restaurant. The shop is conveniently located on Washington street and I found street parking convenient. Depending on time of day, you may need to find a spot. There is an ante-room when you enter which keeps gusts of wind and street noise out of the main restaurant and allows a natural divide between seated guests and those waiting to sit. I was able to make a reservation online and was seated quickly upon arrival. Atmosphere, service, and quality exceeded expectations. I don't need to go anywhere else for my Ramen fix.
