I stopped in alone for a peaceful dinner with the plans to get a to-go meal for another person after I’d sat and enjoyed my alone time, but I was rushed out in 30 minutes. I’d planned on taking over half my dinner home and having dessert (or at least a few bites) and a glass of wine after I ate, but my server had other plans. After I’d been eating slowly and reading for about 10-15 minutes, my server came over and asked if I wanted boxes. I said that eventually I would but not right away, hoping he’d get the hint that I was feeling rushed (who eats in fifteen minutes?!?), but he returned immediately with boxes and started explaining how to pay through the tabletop device. Okay, then; I guess I *won’t* be having a casual dinner at my own pace. The food was good; I’ve enjoyed eating at Cheddar’s in other cities, but I took the hint that I was being asked to leave, and so I’m picking up dinner for my partner somewhere else (I’m literally waiting for a phoned in to go order to be ready at a restaurant around the corner from Cheddar’s right now), and I’ll have a cupcake and a glass of wine when I get home. I’d suggest avoiding the Cheddar’s in Omaha; you’re bothering them. Or maybe it’s better when there’s more than one person and the server can infer ahead of time that he’ll get $40-plus per person and decide that’s worth his time. I don’t believe I’ve ever been treated like this before in a restaurant. HOW RUDE. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
