I use to come to the Cheesecake Factory every year on my birthday in my early 20’s , I recently told my boyfriend how special those visits were years ago and he surprised me on a date to Cheesecake Factory for my birthday. It was so nostalgic and sweet. We came in excited & what started as a very great night got worse real fast. I was served literally dish water in a glass. My water glass had a broken glass structure in it that was blocking the fresh made water from dirty used disgusting water . We had only had apps and were waiting on our entrees and to order cocktails so I was drinking water. Our server was training someone so the steps of service were a little longer than expected but I understood because I’ve work in restaurants for years. We were sitting in a very dimly lit area and I noticed my straw wouldn’t go down to the bottom of the glass. I thought it was because Of a chunk of ice blocking it, so I poked at what I thought was ice and took another sip. The taste from that last sip was so disgusting I immediately felt like I was going to vomit . We turned the flash on my phone to see what had changed and it appeared that when I poked to hard at the glass structure I didn’t realize was in my cup it mixed the trapped dirty water with fresh water. I immediately alerted the server and she couldn’t even hold back her facial expressions while I was explaining to her what had just happened. She was so disgusted, apologized and said she was going to get a manager. Well, the manager approach is what made this whole night absolutely horrible from drinking dish water to being treated like crap. The first manager Nico came to our table and I started to explain what was going on and she cut me off while talking, grabbed the glass and said “sorry” . That was it . We sat there in disbelief, thinking her response was some kind of joke. A few minutes later, the server came back over asking did the manager come to the table? We explained to them what happened & the server was just as disappointed as we were with the manager’s response and she said she would be right back. Before the server came back, another manager came over by the name of Tabitha . She said she was told something was wrong with my drink and could she get me another beverage. I started to explain to her. It wasn’t a matter of just bad taste. It was a matter of preparation and what I had just drank was basically dishwater. I told her trying to offer to fix a issue without fully understanding what just happened isn’t ok. She then stated that she would go try to find out what happened and I told her I could show her the pictures and if she would let me talk, I could explain. She got frustrated and said “well water is free” so would you like another beverage? Now not only did I feel completely disregarded. I also felt disrespected because whether water is free or not, does not mean I don’t deserve clean water. It also doesn’t mean I don’t deserve to be served food or drink in clean dishes. That comment was completely inappropriate. Not to mention, we had ordered several appetizers that we received & two cocktails & two entrees that hadn’t came to the table yet, none of which is free. I was done trying to explain myself to management. At this point, I just wanted to leave. We asked for the check and Tabitha came back, offering to takeoff my boyfriend’s sweet tea and a side of broccoli. Now we had only received apps, my dish water and his sweet tea to the table so I explained to her she needed to takeoff the cocktails & the entrées because we hadn’t received them. She said she couldn’t comp off that many items just because I had something in my water because water doesn’t cost. That statement shows just how much no one was listening to me, So I asked the server to come over and explain to her proof that we had not received the items we were asking To be removed on our check so that we could just leave. The server repeatedly apologize and bought us the correct check. We left . I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with my experience here. Meal type: Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
