Have been before and food wasn't too bad but went the other day and wasn't pleased at all. For around £100 we got x3 burgers, "gammon" Eggs & chips, ribs and a basket meal, a couple of beers and a bottle of wine. Food is seriously over priced and made us all I'll. The food that was fried had black bits where the oil was clearly old and needed changing. The gammon and chips wasn't gammon, in fact was thin ham from a packet. The burgers were cheap thin little things. We checked the bottle of wine that was brought, they got it from Aldi for £3.50 and yet sell it for £17 which is far too much for a poor quality wine. The place is practically a ghost town now compared to how it used to be years ago, such a shame. Wouldn't recommend going there. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £90–100

Excellent Sunday dinner. Party of 11 the service was very efficient all food was served together, freshly cooked and served hot. Great portions. Nice outside area to sit afterwards. Friendly and helpful staff. Food and drinks at the table worked out at just over £30 a head which we all thought was excellent value. Price per person: £30–40

This was our second visit to The Chequers. There were 6 of us this time for the Xmas lunch and we all agreed that the food and service was excellent! We agreed to return in the new year. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £30–40
