It's an older restaurant and shows it's wear but it really is a great place for breakfast. Reminds me of when I was young and going to places like this with my dad. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place was owned by my second cousin, Aaron, who sold it to someone, who is now selling it. I find that to be a great shame because the building is practically, like a few places around muskegon, a historic place. The building is so iconic, it's one of those places that's so baked into my childhood, that I can't imagine muskegon without it. The Cherokee is like the Twedes restaurant of muskegon, if you're in a Twin Peaks mood, the coffee, no matter what is good. And if they really wanted to bank on the nostalgia that twin peaks brings they'd do unlimited fry basket and make pies, too, but I haven't been in in a while. If you're a tourist, definitely stop in sometime if you're looking for a local vibe, you're going to find a good mix of characters here, and the overheard conversations are top notch if you're a people watcher. The food is decent, not quite a five star, but better than average the last time I went. I'm not sure how it is with the owner switching over, but it's historically been pretty good. I'll update it if they sell it and get a new owner. Honestly, that whole corner has development material because that building across the street has been sitting vacant, and it's just dying to be a series of little shops or like a kitchen art museum or photography studio or something for beach goers if they made rent cheap. A Hidden Gem for Breakfast and Conversation I’ve been to the Cherokee Restaurant twice in the past three months, and both experiences have been impeccable. It is a quiet, small spot in Norton Shores with a great atmosphere—perfect for actually being able to have a conversation. I met strangerhere for breakfast, and it was the ideal setting. Cause we left as friends. On top of the environment, the food is delicious, the prices are good, and the staff is wonderful. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quality meal in a relaxed setting. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
