One of the worst Chicken George experiences in Hull — and that’s saying something, because it used to be one of the best. The owner — or the man I assume owns the place — is a masterclass in rudeness. Call him three times, and he’s rude all three times. Come in store, same story. One time I placed a collection order, got there, and he hadn’t even started it — and was still rude. Another time, I called, and he literally said, “It’s busy, order in store” then hung up. Third time? Same. I just hung up and saved myself the headache. Honestly, I didn’t know chicken could come with an attitude as a side dish. The chicken itself is confusing. It’s over-battered, overcooked, and somehow soggy at the same time. I don’t know how physics allows over-fried and soggy chicken, but somehow they’ve cracked it. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. Endike Lane’s branch is clearly the best — great chicken, no hot-headed owner, and no unexpected side of attitude.
