3/11 My wife and I went to Merced Chili’s. We both had the 3 for me 10.99 plus 1.00+ for soup upgrade. We both had the Smash burger and the chicken enchilada soup. The food was very good, but the service was even greater. We were very pleased with the past couple of times we have eaten there. I really recommend giving them a try, especially after shopping at the very upgraded Merced Mall. for us. Especially our waitress! The first time I came here was a few months after it first opened. Our server was horrible. She never checked on us and we had to stop a different server to bring us napkins and utensils. Apparently, she saw us stop that server since she came right afterwards to ask if we needed something. We told her that we asked her for napkins and utensils. She should have grabbed them for us, but instead, she just said okay and let the girl do it. So after that experience, we never went back until recently to see if things have changed. Nope, not at all. We got there a couple of minutes after it opened, so the restaurant was pretty empty. After we sat down, no one approached us for long enough that we began to wonder if we even had a server. When she finally popped up, she took our drink orders, brought them to us, and then didn't bother checking on us at all. It was a different person who brought us our food. She only came back to give us our check, but that was only because my boyfriend called her over to give it to us. I don't know if it's just our horrible luck since some people seem to have decent experiences, but whoever manages this place needs to make sure some of their employees actually know how to do the bare minimum of customer service. What to say about Chili's Grill & Bar. The host was a bit late on getting us seated (waited too long). The service was great and quick. The food came quick too. And was good too. This Chili's was even better than the Turlock store. Everything. Was good but the music it was too loud for conversation at the table. Turn it down please. Gotta go. See ya.
