I stopped here while passing through Barstow looking for a good burrito, and the ratings gave me high expectations. I ordered the green chili verde burrito, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to what I was hoping for. When I picked up my order, it was served in a bowl as if it were smothered, which I wasn’t expecting since I didn’t request that. The staff were very friendly and even offered to remake it, which I really appreciated. Given my situation, I told them it was fine and decided to stick with it. However, when I actually got into the meal, I realized it wasn’t really “smothered” in green chili at all—there was no noticeable green chili in the dish. The pork also had a texture and flavor that reminded me of canned meat, which made the burrito pretty disappointing overall. That said, the customer service was great, and based on the strong reviews, I’m guessing this may have just been the wrong item to order or an off experience. I’d be open to trying something else next time. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

As a fan of Route 66, this is one of most favorite places to stop when I'm in Barstow. Every time I'm in town, my wife and I stop by and they never disappoint. Plus, they have vegetarian options! UPDATE April 9, 2026: Even though I have reviewed Chiquita Rosita's before, I felt compelled to add to it on my latest visit. My wife and I love this place. We've loved their food from the first time we ever visited their original location. We were so sad at the time when we heard they had closed that location. But we were, and are, delighted that they opened a new location. I can't say enough good things about it. Their aren't enough stars to adequately rate my review. I sometimes wish I lived closer, but my wife and I visit every single time we visit Barstow. I recommend Chiquita Rosita's to anyone who is reading my review wholeheartedly. Delicious food. Beautiful people. What's not to love. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes

Me and two of my friends drove all the way from Las Vegas to have lunch here! It is family owned and operated bin in business for 71 years and their homemade recipes are amazing I love the cheese and onion enchilada and their chicken taco was amazing! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
