The best South Indian restaurant in Ontario. For my money, Cholan Restaurant's offerings are by far the most authentic, and best quality South Indian cuisine I have tasted in a restaurant anywhere in North America. I have tried South Indian restaurants all over Canada and the US, and none top Cholan. I think the reason is simple - it is a small, family-run place with two chefs (Shri and Vanathi) and they make everything from scratch every day. They use the freshest ingredients and don't take any short cuts. The result is simple yet very authentically tasty South Indian food. And it is very reasonably priced. They may not have the widest selection, nor a fancy decor (although it is quite nice), and the service can at times be a bit slow although always very friendly and personal. But that is a function of the fact that it is primarily run by two people who do everything themselves and don't take any short cuts.

Super excellent. Came from Michigan over the labor day weekend. ..... craved South not North Indian. ...excellent food. .... everything has a homemade unique taste... Sunday buffet highly recommended. ..... Will come back just to eat here
