This review is for Blue Ice - via dei due macelli, not whatever the listing has been logged as but with Blue Ice's photos (correct address wrong name). I have been coming here for around 4 years now and it used to be run by a really nice lady. Now there's an older man in charge who clearly has an attitude issue. I always go in for a soy pistachio gelato and a chamomile tea. I do this twice per stay in Rome so 8 times a year. Last night, I asked for soy and he started serving from the regular container (soy is kept out the back). I queried if it was soy and he initially said yes and then no. I explained I was vegan and allergic to dairy and then he tried to add chocolate gelato too (I don't eat chocolate and had not asked for it). His assistant then said what they were serving me was dairy free but when I asked what was actually in it, they stared at me blankly. At that point, I said I couldn't risk it and went to leave, only to get a load of attitude off the old man. So easy enough - people with food intolerances are not welcome. Don't go there.
