We enjoyed a lovely family Sunday roast at the Cock Inn in Hitchin and had a really great experience. The food was excellent—beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and served in generous portions. The roast had everything you could want, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The service deserves a special mention. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. They struck the perfect balance of checking in without being intrusive, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, making it an ideal place for a family meal. We’d happily return and would definitely recommend the Cock Inn to anyone looking for a quality Sunday roast with great service. The only reason for four stars rather than five is that there’s always room for that little extra touch—but it was a genuinely enjoyable meal and a place we’ll be visiting again. We had a wonderful Sunday roast dinner at The Cock, the food was delicious, perfect portion size, succulent roast chicken, with the best roast potatoes! No side dishes needed as they are all included. We started with the pork quavers, so good and the tasty, light prawn toast. Would recommend if wanting a light starter. The dessert was delicious, we shared a honeycomb ice cream sandwich. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Great to see pub food done so well! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had an absolutely perfect evening at The Cock Hitchin. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by such a warm and friendly atmosphere that we instantly knew it was going to be a great night. The ambience is both elegant and cosy at the same time the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and relaxed. First of all, I have to mention the staff. Every single person was incredibly polite, attentive and professional. The service was flawless from start to finish. They genuinely care about their guests and it really shows. It’s not easy to find such high-quality service these days, and the team here truly deserves special praise. Now let’s talk about the food… Absolutely outstanding! Huge compliments to the chefs. Every dish we ordered was perfect, both in presentation and in taste. You can really feel the quality of the ingredients and the passion that goes into each plate. The flavours were beautifully balanced and everything was cooked to perfection. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such thoughtfully prepared and delicious food. The menu also offers a great variety, so there’s something for everyone. The drinks were just as impressive. The cocktails were delicious, beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with the food. The recommendations we received were spot on. In short, The Cock Hitchin is not just a place to eat, but a place to truly enjoy a wonderful evening. It’s rare to find a venue that combines excellent food, outstanding service, great drinks and a fantastic atmosphere all in one. This was a truly memorable experience for us and we will definitely be coming back again and again. Thank you to the entire team you were absolutely brilliant!
