After a long walk to the pub I was looking forward to a pint and a sit down but instead I found myself on the brink of tears after being rudely and roughly treated by the landlady herself. I am 18 years old but look 16 for this reason I always carry my ID on me. When I arrived at the pub I was welcomed by two lovely bar staff who after placing my order checked my ID and even confirmed it with their friend. As they were pouring my drink a lady who had been giggling in the corner with a group of friends came and stepped behind the bar explained she was the landlady and wanted to see my ID, the two bar staff exclained to her how they had already checked it but she was adamant about seeing it her self I understood since I look younger then 18 and handed her my ID, she went on to explain how she wasn't going to serve me and when I asked why I was shocked at her sharp response "you look f...ing tweleve" I asked if she could scan my ID to confirm it was real and offered up my car insurance paper work as another solution this was followed up with "I have no doubt your ID is real but I'm not gonna survive you" at this point the bar staff looked upset and everyone in the pub had there eyes on use and the situation no one looked pleased about the surprising language and unexpected harsh tone. I felt as if I was being scoled by an authority figure and was embarrassed about what had been made a very public situation. I was tired and at this point just thirsty I had been really excited to go to the pub and savour a relaxing moment but now I was trying not to cry and shake, I left the pub and later had a small breakdown in an alleyway. I have not bothred to return to the pub since but I know that if the landlady wasn't down stairs drinking with her friends I would of been served and had a nice time. Non of what she did was illegal as they have a right not to serve and as a bar worker I understand the precautions about not losing your licence but I was felt personally asulted and scared in that situation. I don't think I will ever forget the way I was talked down to and treated as well as feeling bad for her friends, customers and staff who all looked taken a back and upset by the situations. I hope this finds any young looking drinkers so you don't have to go through the same thing I did. Kind regards Rai. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Really enjoyed our impromptu meal at The Cock Inn yesterday, I haven't visited for quite a while and was pleasantly surprised by the improvement since new ownership, especially with how warm, welcoming and friendly the staff were on arrival and throughout our meal. The food was really great too. Just wish I could've managed dessert! There were lots of little touches that showed the customer experience was really thought about at each step of their visit. Very disappointed with the food, not good value for money, also asked to keep our dirty cutlery after our starter as they were short of cutlery, refused to do so
