It was a beautiful day outside, despite sitting inside, the bright sunlight was streaming through the windows. The space was nicely decorated with knickknacks & photos (I'm assuming) of happy customers. It was quite pleasant to enjoy a coffee & some brunch. There was nothing particularly spectacular about the French Toast I ordered, nevertheless it was quite enjoyable. The staff were friendly, they seem to know the names of their regulars. A nice escape from the chaos of the shopping centre.

On the street level of Top Ryde Shopping Centre, sitting in a corner, lies Coffee Trader. Gave this place a try on a Saturday morning. Parking is always convenient in Top Ryde on those days. Walked into the cafe, and almost reminded me of a bar. Nothing particularly spectacular, and it took a while for the waitress to serve us, probably because they were busy.

Asked the waitress for recommendations and she kindly pointed out a few. Was a little surprised that the menu did not show the price of the coffees, and had to ask the waitress. Ordered the regular cappuccino ($3.80) and the egg, chicken, chorizo and sourdough bread ($15.90). My mum ordered the egg, bacon panini ($11.90). Unsure if they were busy, but the food took quite some time to serve.

Coffee was above average and no issues there, except the cutlery provided to us was still slightly wet and not thoroughly wiped dry. Was impressed with the serving size of my sourdough bread order. The omelette was seasoned well and enjoyed. However, the salad was not all too appetising and some of the chorizo was dry and overcooked.

Overall, it was a decent experience with the price being fairly reasonable for the quality provided, although some areas can still be improved!

Welcoming and child friendly, good food, good serving sizes, great coffee. Has become a regular of mine and my family. French toast and bacon and egg roll especially nice.
