We stayed at the Gasthof Kohlern for a perfect short vacation. The location is beautiful and quiet with incredible views of the mountains and Bolzano. The hotel is so lovingly designed that we felt right at home. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and create a relaxed atmosphere. The food is consistently very good, some dishes are fantastic! We felt very comfortable and are already thinking about when we will come next time! Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

We had a fantastic family winter holiday at Gasthof Kohlern! In addition to the lovingly furnished rooms, the great food and the beautiful wellness area, we particularly liked the warm cooperation between the employees. You can tell that the inn is run by a family with joy and passion. During the day you can, for example, visit Bolzano by cable car, go on a nice hike or go skiing. We had the wonderful pleasure of staying at the Gasthof Kohlern for 2 nights. I agree with other reviews that this is a top-notch experience. The food is outstanding, the staff are professional, friendly - and funny. However it is the public spaces and design that we remember most – having an aperitif at sunset on the deck overlooking Bolzano, the cozy dinner room where you are served a gourmet 4 course dinner, the sun-filled breakfast room with windows and views on 3 sides. The wellness area is equally outstanding – an infinity pool and hot tub with a view, steam room and sauna, with a fabulous outdoor space. This Gasthof has an interesting history as one of the owners was instrumental in implementing the first passenger cable car. An updated model is still in place today – located just a 3 minute walk from the hotel and fun/easy to take a trip down to Bolzano. We would go out of our way to stay at this Gasthof again!
