I love ethnic markets--wonderful to have a place to buy specialty items and so much fun to discover new foods. Conzatti's stocks a lot of Italian classics, such as the right flour for pizzas, cannolis, etc., though surprisingly there are no Italian coffee beans or fresh-ground coffees. The selection of cheese is impressive, including several not available anywhere else in town, and prices are fair. I was excited to see an olive bar with a wide selection, including my favorite oil-cured olives, but my excitement soon turned to disappointment. The first time I tried the olive bar, the olives went moldy after just a couple of days. I hoped it was a one-time fluke, so I went back a few weeks later. The second time, my favorite olives were clearly well past their prime, sour and astringent, though the other olives were okay. Some other reviewers also mentioned other items past their prime, so this may be something to look out for.

Disgusting environment. I don't think I've ever seen them clean once. I have overheard staff getting upset at one another over 'cleaning too early,' whatever that means. The food is left out for hours, and they mix the utensils in the prepared foods section. They also scrape the mold off of cheese before serving it to customers. Don't get me started on that salad bar, I'm serious, because it's so gross there's nothing to stop talking about when you start. They do nothing but talk poorly about their customers to their faces, except the few they seem to know personally. One of worst of their staff, besides the grumpy (kindest word you could use to describe her) limping woman, has made a habit of loudly speaking poorly of her husband with dementia or alzhimers. The general lack of empathy and unprofessionalism from staff is deeply concerning considering they work in food production and customer service. If it weren't for them serving Italian imports, I wouldn't come. I've been considering just driving down to Delallo's to make my purchases in bulk so I don't have to go back. Lord forbid I even consider purchasing prepared foods from them, or even worse, the deli. This place is disgusting and the management is abhorrent. The staff are unbearable to deal with, and the manager does nothing about them. The manager seems even lazier than the staff. She's sarcastic to customers, dismisses their concerns to their face, and doesn't seem to have any grip on her employees. There has to be someone more qualified for her position. A high-schooler, maybe? I wish I were joking. It's impossible to not notice that employment is like a revolving door here. Maybe I enter at poor times, but they always seem to treat their new hires terribly. Perhaps if they were capable of maintaining staff, they would be capable of maintaining a cleanly environment. It's hard to believe that this place is now owned by the founder's son. I think the original Conzatti would be rolling in his grave if he knew the dump this place turned into. Enjoy my business, but not for long.

Really good family market type place. Their wedding soup is my favorite! They have an amazing variety of foods there and the fresh bread is so good!
