Would put zero stars but can't do that, Group of 8 went yesterday for Christmas dinner what an absolute shocker, had my elderly (88) year old father with me and was kept waiting over 1.5 hours for the main meal and that only came after requesting it, one of the party received their main, ten minutes later two more of the party received theirs then the five remaining came nearly 20 mins after that, I had soup as a starter which was cold, was told main would be served with selection of veg on table to help yourselves but wasn't the case, no cauliflower cheese as stated on the menu, didn't stay long enough for the mince pies and mulled wine as took nearly four hours for the three courses, no salt and pepper on table and never even got it after requesting it, lack of cutlery, bar was running out of glasses. Would never go back again as was a really rubbish Christmas dinner. Had been previously for a Sunday lunch to which they were turning pre booked meals away due to running out of meat so should of rung alarm bells back then. I would avoid at all costs,when I was speaking to the landlord about it I explained I needed to get the meal and go as had a dog to get back for, one lad behind the bar was quite rude and told me to go get my dog cos if I did he'd bring his dog...sounded quite threatening to me Landlady and bar staff when I was speaking to the landlord came to speak with him using foul language, sounded like things hadn't gone to plan but the staffs language was appalling especially in front of a customer not to mention a pub full of families. Have been told the brewery have recently closed two of their pubs think this one should be the third!! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Would be no stars but will not let me .came here for Christmas dinner family of 8 one and a half our between course only after complaining how long it was taking .food was the worst iv ever had will never come here again .anyone thinking of eating here do not it is horrible beast thing they could do with this pub is close it Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Visited the cottage inn today and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Very friendly and the food was really nice
