As a regular patron of the Cow and Plough, I saddled up with anticipation for yet another delightful dining experience. However, my recent visit left me feeling more frustrated than a calf at branding time. Upon arrival, my family, including our adorable 9-month-old, was corralled into a booth. Little did we know, this booth was the equivalent of a cattle chute, with no room for our trusty stroller. A staff member, clearly lacking in cowboy skills, attempted to wrangle the stroller out of our possession, citing navigational difficulties. I half expected them to lasso it out the door! Despite the vast expanse of open tables grazing before us, no offer was made to relocate us to more suitable pastures. It seems the concept of accommodating a young family was as foreign to them as a chicken in a cattle ranch. As we chewed our cud in disappointment, I couldn't help but reflect on the irony of the situation. Here we were, loyal patrons of the establishment, treated with less consideration than a lone tumbleweed on a dusty trail. In all my years of frequenting the Cow and Plough, never before have I encountered such a moooooving display of poor customer service. It's enough to make even the most steadfast cowboy hang up their hat. So, as I mosey away from this less-than-pleasant experience, I'll be sure to think twice before hitching my wagon to the Cow and Plough again. After all, there are plenty of other watering holes in this wild west of dining options. Yee-haw for better customer service elsewhere! Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Some great Ales for me and cocktails for my wife, could it get any better? Yes, we had a nice Fillet Steak and a Ribeye steak , and we can thoroughly recommend as they had great hospitality & we could park our motorhome in the large car park overnight as long as we ate & drank , not a problem Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Haven’t been for a while but booked Sunday lunch and was so disappointed. Roast potatoes so over cooked could hardly eat them, rock hard. Every plate had 1 carrot, not a full carrot, 2 piece of carrot. Menu states seasonal veg, 1 bowl of cabbage was placed on table, not shredded or chopped, large whole leaves you could barely cut up. Chicken & lamb ok, beef was awful, 2 small slices, under cooked and more like processed meat. Needed a dessert to fill everyone, only to be told no puddings left( no sticky toffee or crumble ) only cheesecake, which we all had, but wished we hadn’t bothered. Nothing like a cheesecake, blob of coffee mush on a handful of crumb. Unfortunately complete waste of money and so disappointed as was husband birthday. Would not eat there again, but lovely place for a drink
