Food was fantastic, portion could have been tiny bit more generous. I was sent to the bar to order but then I found out there was a table service. Member of staff very lovely, smiley and welcoming. A special thanks goes to Sienna and the bar lady. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: £10–20 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection

Very disappointing experience at The Crab Pub, Isle of Wight We visited The Crab Pub in the Isle of Wight today and, unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We were really looking forward to bringing my mum and dad along to experience some proper British pub food, but it ended up being a huge let-down. When we first arrived, the guy at the bar told us there would be a 45-minute to 1-hour wait for food, which was absolutely fine—we understood it was busy and were happy to wait. However, when the food eventually arrived, it simply wasn’t worth the price. I ordered the £20 mixed grill and asked for the steak to be medium rare. It arrived well done and was tough as rubber. The meal was basically a well-done steak, eggs, onion rings, sausage and chips. For £20, we expected considerably better quality. For the kids, the guy at the bar told us they did bolognese, so that’s what we ordered. What arrived was essentially plain pasta with tomato sauce, two slices of garlic bread, some cucumber and carrots. It was honestly shocking and nothing like what we expected from a bolognese. The drinks weren’t much better. My mum ordered a mojito, but it tasted as though there was absolutely no alcohol in it. We actually had to give it a stir with a fork! The gentlemen’s toilets were also in a terrible state, with empty cans lying on the floor. This really added to the overall poor impression. Overall, the food, drinks, cleanliness and service were all very disappointing. The manager and staff really need to get a grip on the standards being offered. We were looking forward to giving my parents a nice British pub experience, and unfortunately it turned into a very disappointing one. Not worth the money and, based on our experience today, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: £10–20
