I went to Cuccina for lunch and, initially, had a lovely meal and really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn afterwards. I asked for a takeaway box as I wanted to take the rest of my meal home. I understood that it was taking a little while to come out as the restaurant was busy, so I decided to go up myself to collect it and make things easier. I was given the takeaway box, paid for my food, and walked back towards my table to pack my leftovers. However, when I returned, my entire table had already been cleared — including my remaining food and drinks — and another group of people had been seated at the table. I was extremely disappointed, especially because I had specifically asked for a takeaway box and was only away from the table for a short time. My food and drinks were taken without anyone checking with me first, and I was left feeling like my meal had essentially been thrown away while I was still a paying customer in the restaurant. The food itself was lovely, but the way this situation was handled really ruined what had otherwise been a good lunch. I understand restaurants get busy, but staff should communicate with customers before clearing a table, particularly when the customer has already requested a takeaway container.
