Looking for a restaurant for Sunday lunch in the city, we found Curate restaurant as part of the Double Tree Hotel in James street in Northbridge. The service, food, and ambiance were superb. The food presentation was excellent and we will be back to eat our way through the menu! Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We only tried their restaurant and the food was very unique and flavorful. I loved their food and their service. The staff were encouraging us to give them feedback about the mains to better improve the experience of the food. Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Overall we were quite disappointed with our service. As a Hilton Honours member I found these standards not becoming of a Hilton venue. We booked dinner for 40 tonight which the venue quoted that they staffed up to provide service. We were 35. We were seated immediately and we were the only patrons in the restaurant - it was 6:15pm. We ordered about numbers 10/11 in the queue. Service required some of us (including my wife and I) to wait an hour for our meals whilst others only waited 10-15 when they ordered later (when they had ordered the exact same meal as us!). I blame this specifically on the system of having to order at the bar on different registers. We had the barramundi and paella. The barramundi was not prepared with fresh cilantro and the portion size was inappropriately small especially when compared with the earlier portion that was likely ours. The seafood paella was quite good and a portion size more than double the size of the barramundi. After dinner at about 8pm, we asked for dessert and were told there would be another one hour wait because a large group and backlog. As we were the only patrons and we had all been served dinner it was incomprehensible how there could be any delay. We didn’t order any dessert. The waiter then returned to say dessert would be 15 minutes - so we opted to order dessert and queued at the bar, only to have the waiter return to say the waiter is again one hour but the chef would try to serve us in about 20 minutes as a special gesture. We cancelled the dessert order out of frustration. This is not the level of service that one would expect from the Hilton. The waiter returned and offered me complimentary drinks as a gesture of goodwill - I said we just bought a round and he just turned around and left. We stayed until 9:30pm - some additional 2 hours. He never returned to offer the complimentary drinks. Also I was told as a Hilton Honours member that we should have had a 10% discount on our meal. This was not accepted by the person taking our order - maybe because this was the bar. My wife said don’t worry about it because it was embarrassing - however that is not the point. We were not honoured with our Hilton Honours and we were not respected - in fact we were misled. I cannot reiterate how disappointed we were.. I would like to follow this up with management. My HH is Price per person: A$200+ Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
