Una estrella MICHELIN: cocina de gran calidad. ¡Merece la pena!

Celebrated Wine Country chef Douglas Keane has returned to the fore with his re-launch of Cyrus in Geyserville. Set among rolling vineyards, the dining rooms are housed in a coolly modern concrete and glass lair that offers a striking contrast to the verdant surroundings—an old-growth plum tree in the courtyard is a nod to their past as the Sunsweet prune packing facility... Cyrus is the best restaurant I’ve been to. As someone who lives in the Bay Area and is deeply into fine dining and frequent Michelin dining experiences, this place stands out as something truly different. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant itself is stunning: beautifully designed, warm, and thoughtfully executed in every detail. What really elevates the experience is the energy of the staff; everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, which adds a level of ease and hospitality that you don’t always find at this level. The food is exceptional, creative, precise, and honestly unforgettable. Each course feels intentional without being overly formal or intimidating, and the overall pacing of the meal makes the experience feel seamless. A special mention to Addison, the manager, who clearly sets the tone for the room. The service feels well-led, polished, and welcoming in a way that enhances the entire evening without ever feeling forced. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Best Michelin-starred meal I’ve had, full stop. The whole thing plays out like a journey. Fun, interactive, genuinely transportive. Bite after bite of stuff that surprised you. The pacing was dialed and the service was flawless without ever feeling stiff. And the drink pairing might have been the sleeper hit. Big shoutout to Joseph, the sommelier, whose choices and knowledge were spot on. I actually looked forward to seeing what would land next to each dish. If you’re anywhere near Alexander Valley, go. When I discovered Cyrus was offering a Sunday Communal Table for $95, the value proposition was too significant to ignore. Having visited 55 starred restaurants and documented 90 stars globally, I’ve found that "simple" comfort food is often where an institution’s technical discipline is most exposed. I had to find out if Michelin-grade fried chicken was a reality or just a concept. The restaurant’s location, flanked by vineyards, provides a striking approach. I particularly admire the architecture of the building; it possesses a gravity that makes you feel as if you are entering a space where something serious and intentional is about to occur. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who led us to the communal table, situated in an alcove just off the Bubbles Lounge. The lounge itself is refined and elegant—a high-end space that manages to feel welcoming rather than stiff. The lobster was the standout dish of the technical ledger; it was perfectly cooked and delicious, representing the highest level of technical intent I’ve seen for a chilled protein in some time. The seasonal chopped salad tasted ultra-fresh, and the potato purée was silky and rich, pairing perfectly with the chicken and making the trip worthwhile on its own. There is a reason the Chef's fried chicken is legendary—the crunch elevates the experience to 110%, and the sauce is undeniably Michelin-grade. Interestingly, it was served with rice, something I’ve only seen a handful of times in all my starred visits. While the portion of okonomiyaki was small, the execution was excellent. The layering and sauce application were so well-balanced that I found myself wishing I could take a larger version over to one of the lounge's large black chairs and just focus on it entirely. Even the bread and butter service met the standard, with Parker House rolls and Saikyo miso butter that did the job perfectly. Forensic observation extended to the beverage service, where I had a masterful creation involving a foam topped with pepper. Beyond the drink itself, the glass it was served in was absolutely stunning. In my audits, I look for "Forensic Clarity" in barware, and this was immaculate—no spots, no streaks, just pure transparency. Service was equally impressive, specifically regarding a recovery during the final course. I was the last at the table to be served dessert, and while I didn't see the specific incident, I suspect the plating collapsed in transit. Without me having to say a word, the waiter recognized the breach in presentation and returned it to the kitchen for a fresh version. This level of "Presence" is much appreciated; it was worth the wait for both the flavor profile and the spectacular presentation. Ultimately, it was a pleasure to join other culinary fans in a communal setting. The service was amazing, the restaurant was immaculate, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this Sunday experience. Cyrus proved that you can maintain world-class standards at a $95 price point. I look forward to returning for the regular menu to see how they handle the full "Grand" journey.
