I stayed in Nairobi for 4–5 days and had the chance to dine at Dhaba Restaurant in Sarit Centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful—they guided me well on what to order and ensured I had a comfortable dining experience. I especially enjoyed the Dal Makhni and Dal Tadka, both were delicious and felt authentic to Indian taste. The overall food quality was excellent, and the pricing was quite reasonable. It’s crazy that I’m typing this barely 5 minutes after leaving the establishment. The service there is abysmal!!! We walked in, saw the place was full, and stood by the door waiting to be seated. A waiter saw us and literally ignored us and walked out through a different exit. No acknowledgment, nothing! Another one eventually told us there was seating upstairs and showed us where to go. We didn't know we were being led upstairs to be ignored!? A waiter even came upstairs to get drinks from the fridge and didn’t once acknowledge our existence. At this point, I’m convinced we blended in with the decor because make it make sense!? My sister had to go back downstairs to find someone to serve us. I was on a phone call when she returned with the menu, and she started rushing me to order so she wouldn’t have to come back up and was incredibly rude about it. When we decided to leave and explained why, she argued with us, insisting she wasn’t rudegirl you're literally proving our point! Would highly NOT recommend!!! Service: 1

The Pindi Chana Masala (1100KSh) was very tasty and filling, make sure to try it with the tamarind sauce. The Classic Chili Mushroom was quite good too, if you don't mind it being more on the sweet than savory side. It was a starter, but the price and size is the same or bigger than the mains (1100 KSh). The restaurant's vegan options are disappointing though, not even a single vegan dhal to be seen. (Make sure to ask for no ghee if ordering the above, too.)
