I am over in the northern part of Ladd’s Addition and often head to Belmont for the dining scene. A friend and I went in to The Daily Fuel for some vegan fare, and I ordered a hamburger — the most challenging item to make in all of cuisine, or apparently, this is The Daily Fuel’s take on it. Either that, or they were deliberately trying to sabotage my sandwich — the entire thing was utterly undermined by half a head of gross, unwashed lettuce wedged between the garden patty and bun. No one who has ever actually eaten a burger before in their life could make a mistake of that magnitude, so do the cooks have personal vendettas against the customers? A few weeks later, I was out at a bar on Belmont with friends, and in walked the owner of The Daily Fuel with his wife. They then proceeded to get into an argument with the bartender and physically fight the other patrons. They are now banned from that establishment, I understand. So. Not great food, not great people. End of story. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
