Wonderful stay We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing week at Das Rivus. The friendly and helpful staff ensured a comfortable stay from arrival to check out. We especially enjoyed the excellent facilities such as the secure bikeroom, wellness area, heated outdoor pool and delicious breakfast!

This is a terrible hotel. Don’t be fooled by the nice-looking photos of the rooms. Two out of four towels were dirty, and the pillows were so worn out and lumpy that they felt like they were a thousand years old. The room is also poorly designed, with virtually no space to open and keep a suitcase. The rooms don’t even have a refrigerator or a kettle, so if you want a cold or hot drink, you’ll have to buy it from the hotel bar, where prices are about 50% higher than in most other hotels. And this was despite the fact that we booked a good room with a balcony. Another major issue is that iur room (108) gets unbearably hot when exposed to the sun. We literally had to sleep with both the windows and the balcony door fully open just to avoid suffocating from the heat at night. When we asked to be moved to another room because ours was unbearably hot, we were told that there were no other rooms of the same category available. However, while we were still at the reception, the hotel’s own booking website showed that three rooms of the same category were available. I have attached a screenshot taken at that moment. The service deserves a separate mention. On the positive side, the receptionist who checked us in was polite, efficient, explained everything clearly, and even offered to move us to a room with a better view (at the check-in). Unfortunately, that was the end of the “service.” The hotel’s website advertises high-speed internet, but in reality the Wi-Fi speed was only around 9 Mbps. Moreover, this wasn’t due to network congestion - the speed was virtually identical at 8:30 a.m., 6:00 p.m., and even at midnight. When I asked for the password to another Wi-Fi network available in our building because I needed a faster connection for work, I was simply told that it was reserved exclusively for the Panorama room at the top of the building. Breakfast was another disappointing experience. I sat down at one of the few tables without a reservation sign (there were only two other occupied tables in the entire dining room), but halfway through my meal two members of the staff came over and told me that I had to move because another family needed the table. The most frustrating part was that nobody had informed us at check-in or at breakfast that our room had a designated table. Apparently, it didn’t matter that I was already eating. During our 20-day trip across Austria, this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in.

Upon your arrival, we already accommodated your request by offering you a different room, which you selected. Unfortunately, due to our occupancy and operational commitments, it was not possible to arrange a second room change later during your stay.We also regret that we were unable to accommodate your request for a complimentary cancellation after check-in, as this was not possible under the terms of your reservation.We immediately replaced the towels after you informed us that they did not meet our usual standards. We sincerely apologize again for this isolated incident.Regarding the room temperature, we understand that individual comfort levels can vary. We would also like to point out that this room category is one of the most requested in our hotel, and we have not previously received similar feedback.As for breakfast, every room is assigned a reserved table to ensure all guests have a guaranteed seat. We regret that this was not communicated clearly and apologize for the misunderstanding.We value all guest feedback, as it helps us review and improve our service.
