Also a very nice place in Haarzuilens. We live quite near Haarzuilens, as you might see, so we'd love to go there. It's a beautiful town and a nice get away from our little suburbia. De Vier Balken is aptly named - as it has four broad beams covering the ceiling. Their menu is varied and of good quality. It might not be so good for the place itself, but we love to come here with friends because it's a quiet place, especially during the week, which makes it a great place to catch up. The food is good and the staff is nice. Ambiance is a little more simple then 't Wapen van Haarzuylen, the only other "venue" in Haarzuilens (next to the Castle of course). My mom and I also enjoyed an high tea there. It was good, but honestly.. a little small. While their dinner and lunch portions are quite big and heavy, the high tea was quite small and we got one piece of everything, so we tried sharing things by cutting things halfway through of finishing dishes halfway for the other to sample. Which was a shame. We still were a little bit hungry after the high tea, and, as you know, that is mostly not the case with these things. Quality was good though! Either way, it's a nice little place. Feels very homely and comforting for both lunch as dinner.
